Why is exercise given little importance as a health indicator by mom-entrepreneurs?

Exercise is one of the key to a healthier lifestyle but the cost for it is actually resources that most of business-minded women, especially moms, are afraid to exhaust: time and energy.

For working moms, their business and children are both important, that is why they are labeled as mom-entrepreneurs. You can’t take away one from the other. These are just two of the overlapping responsibilities that are bestowed to business moms. Because of these roles, they always have to find the balance between doing their jobs as businesswomen and as mothers. However, it’s easier said than done.

If mom-entrepreneurs would get a free time for themselves, they would rather spend it on relaxation activities such as going to a spa or shopping with friends. This makes exercise a trivial activity for them. Maybe because it costs a lot of time and a lot of energy. Other mom-entrepreneurs cannot even balance both roles very well that they barely have the time to cook healthy foods and get enough hours of sleep.

A study of Pediatrics even concluded that mothers of young children weighed more and ate more calories, sugary drinks and fatty foods than childless women. This is a bad practice since parents should be able to become models of healthful behavior for their children as concluded in the study.

How to begin your daily exercise routine?

Changing the movement rhythm of your body is already an intimidating task but it is even more difficult when you’ve been inactive and out of shape for a long time. So you don’t just throw yourself into a workout plan you find on the internet and start imitating their routines. You will need to start slow in terms of duration, intensity and repetitions. You could even start by just doing usual activities like dancing, walking, gardening, biking or even household chores. That will increase your chances of making it a habit.
