Sobriety Check points can be a hot talking point in my household. On one side you have safety and the other side encompasses the rights of the individual. And the very idea of a Dallas Sobriety Check Points scare me! Why? Traffic back ups!!! Dallas has enough traffic that no one wants to be stuck in traffic because of a check point.
This is from the Law Offices of Tad Nelson & Associates out of Houston after conducting a large and very detailed survey. Those of you that know me well, know that my husband is a criminal Defense attorney for the greater Dallas area and these issues often cause conflict for the attorney as well. Jon believes in individual rights, but check points mean more arrests and that means more clients. As a mom, I too am conflicted. I believe in the rights of the individual, but I want to know my streets are safe to drive on with my kids.
Very interesting to see how the opinions break down across different demographics. What do you think?
Certainly I was surprised to see that the majority of the parents surveyed were against Dallas Sobriety Check Points in the Texas area. I think I stand where timing matters. On holiday weekends and after 1am…I might be able to tolerate a checkpoint, but it would hurt my heart to trade my liberty for the security of safe driving. If you do get pulled over and arrested in Dallas, call my husband Jon. If you do get pulled over and arrested in Houston, call the good guys at Tad Nelson and Associates. Or just get an attorney, because from what I have seen, if you go to battle without one, plan on getting screwed over by an overwhelming justice system.
